Crowdsourcing technical and professional communication

I’m writing this as the very first blog post on my newly created website: Crowdsourced TPC. I first built a version of the site selfishly. I’ve been teaching a variety of technical, professional, and business communication courses for over a decades. In that time, a common problem always arose– I had a hard time finding new, innovative, and relevant activities, lesson plans, and projects for my students. The best materials are locked in the brains of so many smart and talented individuals. So, I built a database specifically for my department, but it never gained traction– there was not a critical mass that made the system useful in any way. So, I decided to broaden my vision to include not just my department, but I decided to take a risk and build a system for academics, practitioners, students, whoever! So, if you’re reading this, that means you!

The hope is that you’d find something useful in here, and in turn, you’d contribute something useful until we crowdsource a body of knowledge together. Getting started is pretty easy:

Step 1: Register for an account

If you just want to consume, you don’t have to create an account. But, if you want to contribute some of your unique insights, knowledge, and (non-proprietary) resources, please register.

Step 2: Add a resource

Add a resource by going here. Provide some details so that others can use your resource properly.

Step 3: Save some of your favorites for later

One the most helpful (in my opinion at least) is the ability to save resources for later. Just click on the save icon and come back to useful resources.

Step 4: Share this wide and far

This website will only be as useful as the content that is contained in it. So, use your networks and share crowdsource-tpc.com among your networks.
